Kala Cotton Care Guide

Kala Cotton is a resilient, rain-fed cotton native to the Kutch region. Handspun and handwoven by local artisans, this organic fabric features a distinct tactile texture. It is naturally durable, highly breathable, and softens beautifully with age and wear

WASHING

To keep your Kala Cotton clothing looking its best:

  • Hand wash or machine wash on a gentle cycle
  • Wash in cold water at or below 30°C
  • Turn garments inside out before washing
  • Do not wring the fabric to prevent fiber damage
  • Avoid bleach and harsh chemicals

Gentle washing helps preserve colour, shape, and fibre strength

DRYING

For best results when drying Kala Cotton:

  • Air dry or natural dry whenever possible
  • Shade dry by hanging or laying flat out of direct sunlight
  • Avoid direct sunlight to help preserve color
  • Do not tumble dry on high heat

Kala Cotton dries quickly and becomes softer as it air dries

IRONING

  • Iron on medium temperature
  • Iron inside out to protect the fabric surface
